Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Saint Sophia

Our Church, Our Parish
1 John 1
The Word from the Beginning
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that you also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.
And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

Psalm 83
To the chief Musician upon Git'tith.
A Psalm for the sons of Korah.
Longing for God's House
How lovely is Your tabernacle, О Lord of hosts!
My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the Lord;
My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
Еven the sparrow has found a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may lay her young —
even Your altars, О Lord of hosts,
my King and my God.
Blessed are those who dwell in Your house;
they will still be praising You.
Blessed is the man whose strength is in You,
whose heart is set on pilgrimage.
Аs they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a spring;
the rain also covers it with pools.
Тhey go from strength to strength;
each one appears before God of Zion.
О Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer;
give ear, О God of Jacob!
О God, behold our shield,
and look upon the face of Your anointed.
For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
the Lord will give grace and glory;
no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
О Lord of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You!
